Flightplan

The second leg will bring us to a place named Lamezia Terme, which is located in Southern Italy. This place is mainly a touristic area, as there are beautiful beaches and less people than you would expect. A lot of charter aircraft are flying there during summer season, whch makes this airport to a kind of busy ones occasionally. I decided to go there because I have been there personally piloting a plane a couple of years ago. Back then we decided to land there just to refuel the plane and to move on quite quickly. But after landing there we were waiting over 2 hours for the fuel truck just to get informed, that they don’t have AVGAS there just JETA1. So, we lost a lot of time there and were finally not able to refuel. But anyway, we reached our destianation Palermo safely on the same day. So, I have a kind of personal connection to this airport and that’s mainly the reason why I chose it. Could have also been Brindisi or Palermo…
But independent on the airport on we which we landed, crossing Italy in the planned way presents a lot of interesing places. First of all, we flew over the Tuscany with it’s beautiful scenery. Even from 34.000ft one can easily see the aspects of the landscape. We crossed the “Lago di Trasimeno” headed for Rome and Naples. The view on the vulcano “Vesuv” and the island of Ischia were spectacular and already worth the flight. During the second part of the flight, clouds came up ans buried the land below. Finally, we safely landed on the airport of Lamezia Terme and completed the secnod leg of the Worldtour successfully!
