Flightplan
The plan of this leg was to leave Europe and enter Africa while crossing Morocco. I personally heve never been there and that was the reason why I have been excited about this flight. Markus, a friend of mine, joined me on this flight. As you can see on the flightplan, we left Gibraltar to the West and headed South. While climning to 34.000 ft we followed the coastline and enjoyed the scenery from high above. Once you scroll down a bit you will find the gallery of a few images we took during the flight. It is just unbelievable, how wide and neverending the landscape there is. Morocco must be a wonderful country and that is exactly what it looks like from above. Incredible colors, literally no big cities, impressive mountains, big lakes and rivers.
We flew over Casablance and could also see Marrakesh from a distance. Both very well known and famous cities, which must be worth visiting in real life. After we passed Marrakesh, we headed West to Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. We crossed Lanzarote having a really nice view on Fuertaventura, until we turned a bit to the right, because we wanted to catch a nice view on Las Palmas, the biggest city on Gran Canaria. Short after passing the capital of Gran Canaria, we turned right and started our descend to Tenerife. The approach to Tenerife’s southern airport leads mostly over the open sea, so it’s not spectacular at all. But the wind can always play an important factor when approaching the Canary Islands. Fortunately, this time even the wind was calm and not gusty, so we made a safe landing at Tenerife airport. Another successful flight finished!
