Back a few weeks the big service update Nr. 5 has been rolled out and this caused alot of negative attention within the flightsim community. Together with the SU5 the xbox version of the FS2020 has been released and obviously Microsoft and Asobo have undertaken a lot of effort to somehow unify the game experience on different platforms. This was maybe meant to be a nice thing, but to reach this, major things have been changed in the code leading to blurry graphics, the loosing of sharpness and other graphical issues togehter with many people reporting crash to desktops (CTD) randomly in the game. So, despite the fact, that with this update, a huge frame rate increase could be observed, the magnitude of the community complained about the negative side effects resulting in a dramatic decrease of the graphical quality, which is a major argument for the FS2020 compared to other flightsisms out in the market.

However, a few days after the big update Mircosoft released a first hotfix which didn’t change alot but at least resolved some of the issues reported by the community. This hotfix was then followed by a second one, which finally tried to bring everything back to the initial situation BEFORE the update while keeping up the framrates. And they succeeded. The community calmed down again and forums feature now less posts about complaining and ranting again. Good.

For myself everything is fine again. I did some modifications in a configuration file, which tweaks the graphics a bit. Besides that everything is back to normal again.
