Flightplan

This leg was meant to be a kind of “sightseeing-from-high-above” flight. I personally have been to Sicily with a small aircraft a couple of times. I remember a very small airport close to the vulcano Etna, which is highly active from time to time. Back then we did a short trip around the Etna, but we had to take care about the piston engine and keep strictly away from the ash clouds at all cost. But nevertheless these flights around the Etna have been very impressive and as a consequence I wanted to visit the Etna again. So, I decided to head for Messa, Taormina (very famous little village in Italy) and to pass the Etna in high altitude. After passing the Etna I flew in direction of Sardinia, passing overhead Palermo and out to the open sea.
After reaching Sicily I passed the town Cagliari and headed for the northern part of the island and to further cross the island of Corsica, which belongs to France already. As destination I have chosen the famous airport of Nizza (=Nice), just because there ia a nice virtual representation of the airport available in the Market store of the Flight Simulator. While descending to our destination I passed the famous village of St. Tropez from where the final approach part to Nizza airport startet. As the weather was very nice (again) I had plenty of opportunities for sightseeing and taking some nice screenshots. Finally happy to have the third leg of the Worldtour completed sussessfully!
